excellent howto here: also includes the dreaded heartbeat rule that everyone inquires about. :)

HI Fat Tony ime a newbie so please bare with interesting article i was wondering if most of that would aply to bigpond ADSL aswell because i have a 4 port router/modem with 2 windows boxs runing DHCP protocol and have had no luck configuring a conection on mandrake with pppoe but established a conection using DHCP . any reason i cant keep using it that way thanks

Ahuh! Finally fixed the heartbeat problem!

I agree that's an excellent howto..

I fine-tuned my firewall by having a read of http://www6.software.ibm.com/devcon/devcon/docs/fdx24tut.htm

Explained alot of things I didn't understand but just had in my firewall anyway.
