hi guys,

I would like to run Redhat 8 and use the server (or any other ditro suggestions?). What I want to do is use pMachine or Movabletype etc to log my thoughts and research on the sites I visit and the information from them and pile it all straight into a mysql database. I do not want to serve pages to the net. I only want to use it as a LOCALHOST setup.

Is this possible? Is there a right way to do this?

I understand security is a major factor here. Could anyone make some suggestions on how to do this? Your help would be appreciatted.

Thanks.

PS - Current setup is 2 (38GB and 40GB) disks with windows on first disk and linux on the second.
