You know this was working to the best of my knowledge.. on my home speakers in the states. I've set up shop in the Repubic of Panama. I bought some speaker..and when I connect them... I get this sound of dad dad dad ... that pickups with a disk r/w. What happend?

Running sarge.

Is there a test (not requriing sound ) that I can run to check the sound card. Is the card fired? Same current as in the states.. and I'm connected to a UPS.

running OSS sound drivers.

Sounds like your sound card is sharing the same IRQ has your hard drive controller, or it is just fried.
