Just wondering if anyone has tried Lindows at all ?

I am just about to download Lindows 4.0 for purposes of review etc and was wondering if anyone has tried it and how they liked/disliked it.

I have tried a bootable demo CD, it looks ok, but I couldn't really see much about the Windows program compatability... hoping the full verison can live upto its hype.

Very interested to hear from other people that might have tried it.

I got the 4.5 developer edition for free (legitimately! through a www.osnews.com / lindows.com promotion)

Got to say I'm not impressed. Didn't like my sound card (AC-97 standard motherboard chip that even win98 picked up).

Takes nearly 5 minutes to boot up.

Doesn't like playing movies in full screen.

I didn't try installing any windows stuff because they have toned down the hype about windows compatibility.

The screen output looks fairly bad on tv screens, worse than i expected.

Did you have any joy with it?

I pretty much got over it when the bootable CD version I was trying didn't run any single simple Windows app that I tried, so yeah... kinda wasn't happy
